Symposium Information
  1. Who should attend the Symposium?
    This international symposium is directed primarily towards academics, private physicians and researchers involved in breast cancer in medical, surgical, gynecologic, and radiation oncology, as well as other health care professionals.

  1. When can I view the full daily schedule on-line?
    The detailed program schedule will be available in August.

  2. Have there been any future dates selected at this time?
    Future Dates are as follows:

    December 6 - 10, 2011
    December 4 - 8, 2012
    December 10 - 14, 2013

Registration
  1. Can I get financial assistance to attend the Symposium?
    Yes, there are several opportunities available for financial assistance in the form of scholarships:

    -SABCS Clinical Scholars: For Clinical scientists-in-training who are actively pursuing clinical or clinical/translational research in breast cancer.

    -SABCS Basic Science Scholars: For laboratory-based investigators-in-training whose work focuses on the biology of breast cancer and preclinical models of its development and progression.

    -AACR International Scholars: For abstract presenters traveling from countries with emerging economies.

    -AACR Translational Research Scholars: For presenters of highly-rated abstracts focused on translational breast cancer research.

    -AACR Minority Scholars: For abstract presenters working within the United States and within minority groups that have been defined by the National Cancer Institute as being traditionally underrepresented in cancer and biomedical research including African Americans, Alaskan Natives, Hispanics, Native Americans, and Native Pacific Islanders.

    Eligibility Requirements
    -Must be a graduate student, medical student or resident, or clinical or postdoctoral fellow in an official training program in an academic institution.
    -Must provide certification of “in-training” status from the program director.
    -Must be the presenting author of an abstract accepted for presentation at the 33rd Annual SABCS.
    -Must submit the application with the abstract.
    -Must upload a current CV.
    -Must register for and attend the symposium, and present the accepted abstract.
    -May not be a previous recipient of the scholarship.

    -Alamo Breast Cancer Foundation provides scholarships for eligible breast cancer advocates to attend the annual San Antonio Breast Cancer Symposium, and take part in Mentor Sessions.

    All applications for financial assistance must be submitted by 10PM CST by September 1, 2010.

  2. When will I receive my badge?
    Symposium badges will be mailed to Pre-Registrants prior to the symposium. Upon arrival at the symposium, please present your badge at the “PRE-REGISTERED” desk in the convention center (Bridge Hall) in order to receive symposium materials and badge holder.

Abstract Submission
  1. How can I make corrections after submitting my abstract?
    You may make corrections by doing so before the June 21 deadline. The incorrect abstract may be withdrawn and resubmitted without additional charge. Please click here for more information.

    After the deadline, if you discover an error that must be corrected, notify Marathon Multimedia by fax at (507) 334-0014 or by email to pburrage@marathonmultimedia.com

    Note: You will be charged $25 each time you do so. Cut-off date for corrections is July 31, 2010.

Housing Instructions
  1. Will SABCS make hotel arrangements for me or is there a housing facility?
    SABCS does not make hotel arrangements for individuals. You can make your hotel arrangements with OnPeak, the Official Housing Bureau of SABCS. Contact information is available at SABCS housing.

  1. Food & Beverage at the Symposium
    Registration fees include continental breakfast Thursday – Sunday and hors d’oeuvres & beverages Thursday-Saturday at evening poster sessions.

  2. How can I purchase meal tickets, and how much do they cost?
    SABCS does not offer meal tickets for purchase. Lunch options which can be purchased onsite will be available at the Food Court and concession stands.

Information on San Antonio
  1. How can I get additional information on hotel locations, area restaurants, attractions, directions, etc.?
    Creative Dining & Entertainment staff will recommend and make your individual and/or group reservations at San Antonio’s most enjoyable restaurants and/or catering venues! The staff can also help you arrange your rental car, golf tee time, other entertainment and relaxation needs. Their service, is free, and is available now either by phone 210-402-3046, fax 210-402-0335 or e-mail lhorn@snet.net. Staff will also be available onsite during the symposium in East Registration during the following hours:

    Wednesday, Dec. 8............. 11:30 PM - 7:30 PM
    Thursday, Dec. 9.....................11 AM - 8 PM
    Friday, Dec. 10......................11 AM - 8 PM
    Saturday, Dec. 11................... 11 AM - 8 PM
