Session Details

The purpose of this session is to put the risk of breast cancer diagnosis and mortality into the context of overall health and threats to women across their life lifespan. By better understanding the competing risks of co-morbidity and death, we can better understand, counsel women, and develop informed policies about screening (when to start and stop) and preventive interventions to optimize health. We have modern tools to assess risk for the major conditions that pose a threat to women’s health, at different ages.  We will talk about the ways in which we can provide individualized information to optimize health, and better tailor screening.
